Firstly, where we stand doctrinally: our aim is simply to glorify the one true and living God – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit – in the proclaiming of the Gospel of salvation to needy sinners and, specifically, in this work to Mormons. It is a sad reality that of all the evangelical missionary endeavour, work among the cults is a much neglected field. We hope in a small way to rectify this. We make no pretensions to large numbers or great resources but we pray to depend upon God and with the means and opportunity, which He is pleased to provide, sow the good seed of His Word.
This ministry acknowledges that it is only by the sovereign grace of God that a sinner of Adam's race can be brought to salvation. It is God who effects the new birth by His Holy Spirit. It is God who freely justifies so that the righteousness of Christ is imputed to the sinner and he is pronounced pardoned for time and eternity. The divine work of salvation is not in any way haphazard or conditional but Sovereign, Free and Unconditional. A sinner only becomes a Christian because he has been first elected, from before the foundation of the world, and then called by the grace of God. It is impossible for any man by his own volition to turn to God and to exercise repentance and saving faith. Man is by nature utterly corrupt and dead in trespasses and sin.
To sum up, our statement of belief on this matter is stated in the wonderful words of the Bible which say 'Salvation is of the Lord' Jonah 2:9.
In keeping with all true evangelical bodies and churches, the Bible (i.e. the Old and New Testaments) is our ultimate authority. We believe that God has providentially preserved His Word in the manuscripts of the Hebrew Masoretic and the Greek Textus Receptus and that in the English language the Authorised (King James) Version is the best and most faithful translation in current use.
The principal purpose of the website is to facilitate contact with Mormon people. Many Mormons wish to have dialogue with Christians. Many Mormons, we believe, are genuinely troubled by the extraordinary belief system of the LDS. Many Mormons are struggling with sin and burdened consciences and are searching for an answer to their deepest spiritual need – only the true biblical Gospel can satisfy this need. We wish to help. We would like to talk. We will be candid concerning the differences between biblical Christianity and Mormonism. Our desire is the spiritual wellbeing of LDS people and the declaring of the Gospel to them. We are willing to communicate by internet, by telephone 0208 829 8570 24-hour service, or by letter.
We also wish to make available information and resources to inform and to help. However, it is not our intention to duplicate what is already available on many excellent websites known and unknown to us. Much of the material we will be presenting are the texts of a series of tracts which are distributed in the ongoing work of outreach among Mormon people.
We will also be surveying and suggesting for reading material helpful books, which not only critique Mormonism but also present aspects of the Christian faith, church history and theology.
Often people are searching for a good Bible believing church to attend. We wish to do our utmost to help in this important matter. We feel it is vital to connect people with their local conservative evangelical church. To this end, as far as possible, we will be guided by our doctrinal principles.
